Sidewalk Clearing Reminder;
Enforcement to Begin Wednesday, January 16

Although the sunshine yesterday and today has aided in melting snow and ice from public sidewalks, there remains a substantial amount on sections of public sidewalks throughout the Village.

Residents are reminded that the Village Code requires that residents clear all snow and ice from the sidewalk in front of or abutting their property within the first forty-eight (48) hours after the cessation of falling snow. Residents who occupy corner lots are responsible for the sidewalk in front of and on the side of their property.  Residents abutting Connecticut Avenue and Brookville Road are not required to clear the sections of sidewalk abutting these roadways, however, they remain responsible for any section of abutting sidewalk along the side streets.

The morning of Wednesday, January 16, Village officers will begin making contact with any residents who have not complied with the snow clearance requirements.  The goal is to seek compliance by ensuring that all Village sidewalks can be safely accessed.
