On July 13, 2022, Chevy Chase Village’s Director of Public Works, Mr. Jerry Lesesne, will retire after 40 years of service to the residents of the Village. Jerry and his team of five Public Works stewards manage many of the unique services that make the Village such a special place to live, including weekly Special Pickups of bulk items, monthly Hazardous Waste collections, the planting of trees and other shrubbery in Village parks and along publics right-of-way, annual loose leaf collection, weekly yard waste collection, event setups, maintenance of the Village Hall, and clearing of snow and ice from roadways and in the Buffer, Western Grove Park, around the Village Hall and along Connecticut Avenue and Brookville Road. Many of these services either began or were refined under Jerry’s leadership. Residents who are unable to attend are invited to submit notes and emails of thanks and to wish Jerry well on his upcoming retirement to ccv@montgomerycountymd.gov.
