Census Deadline is Today:  October 15

Deadline amended per Supreme Court ruling granting a stay of the order that had extended the Census deadline to October 31. 

The Supreme Court has issued a ruling granting a stay of the order that had extended the Census deadline to October 31. The Census Bureau has now announced the end of the Census effective October 15. The Supreme Court’s decision allows for the underlying appeal to continue in the lower courts and we will update residents if the deadline is extended. 
 
The Village’s response rate remains at 88%.  The remaining 12% of Village households that have not yet responded may do so today by phone or online.  The Census Bureau estimates that each resident that is counted under the census represents $18,250 in federal funding allocated to the state and local governments over the span of the next ten years.
