Western Avenue Milling and Repaving
Project Limits: Between Chevy Chase Circle
and Rittenhouse Street, N.W.
On Monday, crews from the District of Columbia’s Department of Transportation (DDOT) began a project to mill and repave Western Avenue between Chevy Chase Circle and Rittenhouse Street, N.W. This roadway improvement project is expected to take approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
Emergency “No Parking” signs have been placed within the project area and trucks have been using the shoulder along the District’s side of Chevy Chase Circle for vehicle queuing.
All work will be conducted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
For questions or concerns, please contact DDOT’s project engineer, Mr. Delante Toyer at delante.toyer@dc.gov, 202-671-4572 (office) or 202-391-8236 (cell).
DDOT has advised that milling and repaving of Chevy Chase Circle is scheduled to occur later this year. Village officials are working to urge DDOT to commence this work during the stay-at-home orders while traffic volumes are light. We have also urged DDOT to include milling and repaving work along the section of Western Avenue located west of Chevy Chase Circle. We will pass along any information that we receive regarding this work.
