Applicable Guidelines

The Local Advisory Panel (LAP) to the Historic Preservation Commission operates pursuant to the guidelines drafted by the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission. The complete Local Advisory Panel Guidelines (PDF) outline the responsibilities of the LAP.

Scope of Work

The Village's Local Advisory Panel (LAP) to the Historic Preservation Commission assists and advises the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission (Commission) in the performance of its functions.

The Commission

The Commission values and depends on the useful viewpoints and information conveyed by the LAP, especially in the Commission's review of Historic Area Work Permits, but also in other historic preservation matters.

Although their role is advisory, the LAP's contributions and assistance are vital to the work of the Commission and to the furtherance of public knowledge of the history of Montgomery County's communities. While not a primary function, the LAP can also be a source of recommendations for citizens who might serve as members of the County's Historic Preservation Commission.
