Street Restoration Work to Begin Monday, July 30

On Monday, July 30, 2012, Chevy Chase Village contract paving crews will begin to repair and fully restore the roadways affected by WSSC's recently completed water main replacement project. As part of these restoration efforts, the Village's contractor will be grinding away the existing asphalt surface in preparation for new asphalt. Full restoration of the two (2) miles of roadway affected by the water main replacement, is scheduled to be completed by Friday, August 10, weather permitting.
During work hours, parking will be restricted on the affected streets. If necessary, the Village Police Department will arrange and supervise the towing of parked cars to nearby unaffected streets. While the Village and its paving contractor will work to keep the roadway open as much as possible, temporary closures might be required during the asphalt grinding process. All traffic will be restricted once the fresh asphalt is being applied and until it cools. Once the roadway is safe for traffic the Village's paving contractor will re-open the roadway.
In order to assist the Village's paving contractor, residents are asked to please avoid driving on the affected streets during the scheduled days outlined below. Please note that this schedule is subject to change due to weather or other construction related delays. If an adjustment is required, the schedule will be updated accordingly.
