The Chevy Chase Village Board of Managers has recently adopted "Guidelines for Village Committees". The guidelines are the result of many months of work by both the Board and staff. Residents have offered comments and suggestions both formally and in-person at the November Board of Managers' meeting. Many of those suggestions have been incorporated in the new guidelines. The changes have resulted in a greatly improved document.
To facilitate a better understanding of committee operations, the committee area of the Village website has been redesigned, and was launched in mid-January. Each committee now has its own page on the website, including the committee's scope of work, meeting agendas and minutes, and a form for residents to complete if you are interested in joining a committee.
The new guidelines, including information on the process for joining Village committees, are available on the Village website by going to Governance, Village Committees. As the committee system is regularized there will, no doubt, be questions, and suggestions for improvement.
