Speed Trailer
The Chevy Chase Village Police Department has purchased a Speed Trailer for use in the Village. The Trailer was purchased using funds received through a Federal Grant.
A Speed Trailer is designed to alert a motorist of the posted speed limit and their actual speed. If a motorist's speed exceeds 5 miles over the posted speed limit, their actual speed will flash.
The Speed Trailer is placed in a location for 2 to 3 days and then removed. Officers then perform strict speed enforcement at that location. You may have already noticed the Trailer on the northbound and southbound directions of Connecticut Avenue, Brookville Road, Oliver Street and Grafton Street.
The Village Police Department hopes the new Trailer will aid the police in their effort to slow motorists traveling in and through the Village.
